Places traveled to: North Tahoe, SF (X3), Seoul (X3), Kota Kinabalu, Taipei (X2), Bali (X2), Mt. Sorak, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Denia, LA (X2), Paris, Marrakech, Essaouira, Maldives, Kaohsiung, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Tokyo, Niigata, Bogota, Cartagena
Spent Thanksgiving: in Hong Kong, without any Thanksgiving festivities
Spent Christmas: with El Hombre in Bogota
Rang in the New Year (2013) in: Albany, after my brother and El Hombre kept me awake until midnight by forcing me to watch stand-up comedy when I tried to go to bed at 10 pm. Honestly, ringing in the new year with my two favorite guys isn't such a bad way to start off 2013!
Best Fiction book read: The Snow Child, Flat-Out Love
Best Non-fiction book read: My Berlin Kitchen
Best Movie: Jiro Dreams of Sushi, Ruby Sparks
Worst Movie: Horrible Bosses
Best Meal: El Hombre's birthday dinner at Krug Room, Agape Substance in Paris
Second best meals: molecular Chinese at Bo Innovation, modern Spanish at BCN, tapas at Casa Montana in Valencia, Italian at Drawing Room
Best food discoveries: bottarga, adding wet bread and a handful of almonds to gazpacho, txistorra, decent tacos in HK (FINALLY!), super stinky tofu (oh yeah!), honey & almond chicken tagine
"Bucket List" goals accomplished: got married to the love of my life, had a dream wedding in Bali surrounded by my favorite people in the world, traveled to the Maldives (and it totally lived up to the hype!), roadtrip eating through Spain!
Number of Weddings attended: 2 (including my own)
Worst experiences: wedding stress caused by family dynamics
Funnest events: wedding day (best day ever!), Paris Paris Paris!
Favorite memories: Wedding day, every minute spent with family and friends laughing, talking, eating
